Occupational Therapy |
Occupational therapy (OT) assists individuals in achieving greater independence in all areas of life. “Occupations” include any meaningful activity of an individual’s every day life. An OT’s role is to assist people in performing these activities with the greatest extent of independence possible, which will facilitate satisfying and productive living.
OT’s work closely with individuals to develop specific and individualized treatment plans. These plans focus on the establishment, restoration, improvement and/or modification of daily activities. OT’s seek to understand the values and roles that are important to individuals. In kind, the choices of intervention and treatment methods utilized reflect this directly.
